Carlos is a Mexican-American filmmaker based in Brooklyn.
He was named one of NYU Film School’s New Latino Leaders by Indiewire and was a 2018 NALIP Latino Lens finalist.
His latest short, Ni De Aquí, Ni De Allá (neither from here, nor there) is now streaming on PBS and World Channel. It played at at over a dozen international and domestic film festivals and won Best LGBT Short at the Sene Film Festival.
As a producer, he has worked across film, commercial, and branded content for clients including Instagram, Adidas, Meta Horizon, Chase, Nordstrom, The New York Times, and Google. His recent film credits include Clare and Kimchi, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and Artemis Falls, starring Adepero Oduye (12 Years a Slave), which debuted at the Atlanta Film Festival. In 2019, he produced Nordstrom’s "An Open Mind Is The Best Look," which won three Cannes Lions and was added to the permanent archives at MoMA. He also recently produced Michael B. Jordan’s inaugural Chase Sapphire campaign, directed by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema.
His upcoming film, Cheer Up, Paco!, was a semifinalist for both the Outfest Screenwriting Lab and the Netflix New Voices Filmmaker Grant.
